The Challenge
California Bioenergy, the industry leader in climate change reduction for California dairies, was founded with the grand ambition to reduce methane emissions while improving the sustainability of dairies, maintaining a vital worldwide food source while stewarding vital resources.
CalBio came to The Formation Agency at a critical stage in their growth, having just partnered with a major investor to scale its methane reduction projects throughout California and beyond.
The Solution
When CalBio's innovative founders recognized the need to redesign their organization and implement an adaptive strategic planning process to empower growth for scale, The Formation Agency partnered to implement quarterly adaptive strategic planning, guide the organization through a founder succession plan, create an executive team, layer in a company, team, and individual performance goals framework, and facilitate internal communications to increase employee engagement.
The Results
After facilitating six quarterly leadership team offsites, guiding one of its founders and the organization through a succession plan, implementing a new company and team goals framework, tying those goals to employee performance plans, and redesigning its leadership structure, California Bioenergy is poised to capture methane emissions from an additional 205,000 cows on partner dairies to more than double its already significant methane reduction projects, on track to reduce 2.6 million metric tons of CO2e/year by the end of 2026.
